Yvonne Posa is a watercolor artist based in Massachusetts.

Yvonne first started studying watercolor painting when her family moved to New England several years ago. She had little prior experience with the medium, so she needed to learn how to control the pigment and water mixture. Her early works were, more often than not, “experiments.” Gradually, Yvonne gained more control over the medium and learned that the best way to paint in watercolors is to lay down multiple colors and to see what happens when they mix on the paper. To this day, that is how she prefers to work. It gives her paintings a certain visual spontaneity.

Her work is based in realism, but she works on the premise that less is more. Yvonne strives to strike a balance between expressionism and realism in pursuit of the “happy accident.”  Her subjects are varied and gleaned from her travels, family and life experiences. She works from photos, often recomposing the scene in order to create a pleasing composition.
